Mariachi “Los Cuervos” is a Sydney based group, bringing the joy of real Mexican music to the Multicultural Australian scene.
Mariachi music, originating from the Jalisco State, ranges from emotional serenades (Bolero ranchero) to fast paced dances (Sones) and is traditionally played by a combination of Violins, Trumpets, Spanish Guitar, Guitarra de Golpe (The most traditional guitar in Mariachi music, tuned a fourth lower), Vihuela (a rhythmic small guitar) and Guitarron (the Mexican bass guitar) plus singing.
Mariachi “Los Cuervos” cater for any occasion: private functions, weddings, serenades and public festivals.
Apart from Mariachi Music, Los Cuervos perform for Mexican Folk dancing groups in different styles, including: Son Jarocho (from Veracruz State), Son de Tarima (from Tixtla, Guerrero) and Conjunto Norteño (from the northern border of Mexico).
The members of Mariachi Los Cuervos are from Mexico, Peru,Uruguay,The United States of America and Australia.
